ORC has prepared Proposed Water Permits Plan Change (Plan Change 7) to the Regional Plan: Water.

The plan change proposes an objective, policies and rules that manage the replacement of deemed permits with water permits, and the replacement of expiring water permits, and facilitates the transition from the Regional Plan: Water, to a new “fit for purpose” Land and Water Regional Plan.

UPDATE: ORC was advised on 8 April 2020 that the Minister for the Environment has called in the Water Permits Plan Change (Plan Change 7). ORC’s submission period has now closed. All submissions received by ORC will be passed on to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Because the process has been called in, the EPA will renotify the plan change by issuing a Notice of Direction. When the EPA issue their Notice of Direction on this plan change, they will also call for submissions. You can submit again to the EPA if you wish to, for example if you have thought of some additional considerations. Irrespective, all submissions, whether they were direct to ORC or to the EPA, will be collated and summarised as one.

Any person may make a submission on the proposed plan change. You may do so online or by sending or emailing a written submission to us any time until 5pm on 4 May.
